Director of Episode 4. Horror-comedy genre series working with an ensemble of teen performers in action-packed episodes that worked across many locations, sets, high-speed environments and complex themes of grief (in a delicious ghoulish horror-comedy setting).

DEE-BRIEF (CH10 SERIES)

Dee-Brief is a 9x10 minute series, created by Jessica Pearce, co-written and directed by Sarah Hickey. This series stars Alex Hines and Chloe Martin, who created the characters and dialogue. A Monster & Bear production, later acquired for 10Play and 10 Peach (Network 10).

THE VIVID SERIES (IN DEVELOPMENT)

The Vivid Series is a two-pronged series approach, based on the simultaneous release of series ‘Luna’s Dreamland’ (targeted for pre-schoolers) and ‘Willow & The Globs’ (targeted for tweens), but both existing within the same family reality. However, with each series having their own leading protagonist and themes to explore, the unifying factor is the vivid imaginations and minds that we all have at all ages, and how these imaginations can be crucial to processing our feelings, no matter the age.

BARREN (SHORT FILM)

Barren is a short film inspired by Sarah’s 800 kilometre journey (on foot!) from Melbourne to Adelaide in 2015. Recognising the therapeutic nature of running away and being at one with nature, Sarah wrote and directed this film with her newfound creative brain-space and clarity. Selected for the 41st Portland International Film Festival, the short film tales a tale of grief, chance, and a little pink bear.

BULLDOG’S ALLEY (IN DEVELOPMENT)

‘Bulldog’s Alley’ is a 6 x 1 hour character-driven crime heist series which takes place in a small town bowling alley. Set mostly in real time over the course of one night, the series explores multiple perspectives of a bungled-robbery-turned-hostage-scenario, exploring the biggest danger of all: judging a book by its cover.

I’M GONNA DIE ALONE (IN DEVELOPMENT)

‘I’m Gonna Die Alone’ is an 8 x 30min dramedy series that explores the existential crisis facing many in an age of isolation and disconnect: is there a correlation between success and happiness? Or are we doomed to be depressed forever?

Kohbe is an early 30’s female running her own activism-driven fashion label, and experiencing true career success for the first time in her life. But what happens when you get to the other side of the rainbow and there’s no pot of gold?

This series aims to explore themes of mental health, isolation, the inverse ratio of success vs. happiness, and self re-discovery in an age of disconnect. A coming of age story, just… in your 30s.

BETTER OFF DEAD (SHORT FILM)

Better Off Dead is a short film written by Vanessa Crouch, also inspired by true events. However, while the tone of this film might be all kinds of eerie, everything is not exactly as it seems.
